HVJ technician, Mojahed Alfar, arrived on site at 8:30am at the request of Fred Wolfes from Pavecon Construction to visually
inspect the subgrade and to obtain a sample of CTB for compressive strength testing. Upon arrival, HVJ technician met with
Ishmael from Pavecon Construction and obtained information on which trenches were ready for inspeciton. The Stations were
38 +00, 30 +50, 28 +50 and 21 +00. Station 38 +00 appeared to be compacted, and consisted of stiff brown and dark clay and
approximately four feet deep. At 9:15am one sample of CTB was obtained from a small stockpile at Station 38 +00. The other
three locations were uncompacted and consisted of stiff brown gray clay with some areas of light brown sand and also contained
large chunks of clay on top of the finished subgrade. HVJ technician called Derick Thomas with The City of Coppell to inform
him of the results of the inspection; a message was left on his voicemail.
