HVJ technician, Juan Maldonado, arrived on site at 9:00am at the request of Fred Wolfes from Pavecon Construction to visually
inspect the subgrade and to obtain a sample of CTB for compressive strength testing. Upon arrival, technician met with Ishmael
from Pavecon Construction to obtain information on which trench to inspect, Station 21 +00. This trench consisted of light
brown and gray sandy clay. The subgrade was dry and stiff with very few small chunks of clay on the surface. The trench was
mostly compacted; however, technicned noticed serveral small areas that were uncompacted. It was excavated to a depth of
approximately four feet, which removed most unstable subgrade. Dereck Thomas with The City of Coppell was called to be
notified of the inspection results. One sample of CTB was obtained from a small stockpile near Station 28 +50, Technician left
the job site at I0:00am.
