Providing a quality product that meets the objectives of our clients is our primary focus. We believe there are three elements that are critical in achieving this goal: a thorough analysis and design using innovative approaches; completion of projects within proposed budgets; and timely submittal of projects within established milestones and schedules. We have an excellent record of completing projects that meet these three goals. 1 ݱ³¾·²»¼ Ó·¨»¼ Ë» Ю±¶»½¬ NRHET ORTHICHLANDILLSLECTRIC RAIL NRH,T ORTHICHLANDILLSEXAS The project was a combined use hike and bike trail along S.H. 26 and an existing TXU corridor. It was jointly funded by the City of North Richland Hills and TxDOT. It was designed in accordance with ADA, AASHTO and TxDOT guidelines. Historical and environmental assessments were performed. TDLR submittal for ADA review was handled by NDM. EDVPI,IIIII ASTALLASELOWAYHASE AND D,T ALLASEXAS The projects include the design and preparation of construction plans and documents for paving and drainage improvements to construct three phases of a 12' concrete hike and bike trail within an existing DART railroad right of way for both active and inactive rail lines. Project design uses AASHTO standards. This project includes surveys, right-of-way mapping, schematic design, planning, two grade separation structures, community education, public involvement, traffic control plan, signs and markings. 2 HBCTP UTTON RANCHREEK RAILROJECT C,T ARROLLTONEXAS This project included 8,500 linear feet of combined use trail along Hutton Branch Creek. Minor grading was required as well as limited areas of retaining wall installation to maintain AASHTO Bicycle Facilities and ADA/TAS requirements. Two bridges were designed to cross the creek. Barrier free ramps were included for at grade street crossings. 15SRPFI–AG THTREET EALIGNMENT AND EDESTRIAN ACILITY MPROVEMENTSVENUE TO SC–P,T PRING REEKLANOEXAS The improvements consist of realigning and reconstructing 15th Street, enhancing pedestrian crossings, installing mixed use bicycle lanes, upgrading sidewalks to meet ADA/TAS requirements, reconstructing drive approaches, upgrading water and sanitary sewer mains, and improving bus stop locations and parkway landscaping. The project is in accordance with TxDOT standards and the project will be let as a TxDOT project. 3 LOTP/MS/TOD EWISVILLE LDOWNLAZAILL TREET L,T EWISVILLEEXAS This project consists of three separate projects. Design Workshop and Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. were retained by the City of Lewisville to create a transit-oriented development master plan in anticipation of the new passenger rail opening in 2010. In addition the City retained the team to create conceptual streetscape designs for the major corridors connecting to the transit station including Mill Street and Main Street. These streets included on-street bicycle lanes and connections to other critical corridors. Mill Street is the north/south corridor connecting downtown Lewisville to IH 35E. This is a significant corridor as it is the key entry into the community from the south and Interstate-35E, and eventually connects to Lewisville Lake to the north. These improvements will include special attention to bicycle circulation, wayfinding and signage, lighting, street trees and vegetation, sidewalks, parking, pedestrian amenities, public art, gateways and material life cycle costs. In addition, the plan will address off street parking, redevelopment, reducing curb cuts and impervious surface and utilities. This project required engineering, community planning, public facilitation, transit oriented development, planning, urban design, and landscape architecture. 4 HB/WA–SH380TFM3038 ARDINOULEVARDHITE VENUEO M,T CKINNEYEXAS This project includes the design of a new- four lane divided urban greenway arterial and the expansion and extension of an existing two-lane urban minor arterial to a four-lane divided roadway with an underground storm sewer system, sidewalks, hike and bike facilities, and bridge structures (over Wilson Creek and other tributaries). Trail connections at the proposed bridges were designed to tie-in to the City’s trail master plan. The project tied-into U.S. 380 to the north and F.M. 3038 to the south. Both locations required TxDOT coordination for signalization, turn lane additions in roadway medians and for pedestrian facilities within the TxDOT ROW. In addition, this project includes surveys, utility coordination, Texas Historical Commission submission, environmental assessment, hydrologic/ hydraulic study, signalized intersections, floodplain reclamation, and jurisdictional determinations. NDM maintained correspondence and coordination with the property owners at the City’s request throughout the project. The design and construction schedule on this project was extremely demanding in that the project had to be open for traffic by July 2008 for the grand opening of a new middle school. Coordination with adjacent homeowners and Raytheon was necessary for the four-lane minor arterial expansion and extension. Care had to be taken with phasing to make sure homeowners in the adjacent neighborhoods had minimal inconvenience during construction as well as employees at the adjacent Raytheon facility. In addition, several utilities had to be relocated as a part of the project and drainage facilities had to be analyzed and upgraded. NDM was able to accelerate the design schedule through continual planning, coordination, and communication with the design team and the City staff. In addition, NDM was able to make certain design changes that decreased the cost of the project without sacrificing quality. TDLR submittal for ADA review was handled by NDM. 5 8080 Park Lane Suite 600 Dallas, TX 75231 214–739–4741 www.ndmce.com
