As a reminder, we prepared a punch list (for the pump station only) on May 27, 1997. We evaluated the contractor's progress on again on August 6, 1997 and prepared a supplemental punch list· This memo summarizes the work remaining on both the May 271h and August 6th punch list· In addition, I will brief you other subjects pertinent to our meeting next Tuesday. Punch List Item remaining to be completed: 1. Labels on the gas mask at the chlorine and ammonia buildings are partially missing. The sign that is posted is incorrect. --~2. Fine grade and seed the area disturbed by construction activity, specifically the area between the access drive and the existing ground storage tank. ~ ~ o' 3.Motor Control Center LC -- supporting bolts on relocated heater need to be grouted over. OJ/-, 4.Hand rail on relocated ladder (eliminated staircase) needs to be attached to the wall. 0 ,I/, · 5. Route and seal the cracks in the new concrete curb installed by NTMCC near driveway gate and new parking area O, , 6. Correct the drainage problem on the new driveway turn-out. Grinding will be acceptable to the City in order to achieve positive drainage. ~)<, Other Items noted in our recent walk-through: 1. Garage door damaged by electrician during recent repair work on ump 5 & 6 ~-~ 2. Both Pump control valves on pumps 5 & 6 are leaking ~ 3. Pump 5 is leaking at the 1/4 tap supplying the packing ~ 4. Still missing the bug screens on the chlorine and ammonia room buildings vent lines. Both lines are now clogged with dirt-dauber mud. ~ IC 5. Pressure gauge on the ammonia scrubber is damaged (1/2 full of water) and is rotated in a position not suitable for reading· co ~ 6. Seal for the fresh water supply to the ammonia scrubber is leaking at the check valve. Constant 2-3 drops per second· Concrete pad around the scrubber unit is has running water. even during the hottest part of the day %."'~_7. Stainless steel door hardware in the Chorine room is corroding..'~: g The chlorine analyzer cover is does not fit over the unit. Can this be corrected? O,V- , 92 It does not appear that the analyzers have been calibrated· The Pum Station analyzer reads 1.98 while the elevated tank analyzer reads over 3.0. Analyzer in the elevated tank: Drip pan does not catch the discharge from the unit ---412. Tree is still dead on near the electrical conduit relocation 13.Changes have been made to the MCC and the IQ 1000. The city needs documentation and submittals on' the modifications made in order to make their shop drawing files compete. The emergency kill switch in the pump control valve cabinet for both the pumps was tried by the City on 8/27/97. Neither switch worked (valves closed, but pump remained rotruing)..After switch was engaged, both pumps had an incomplete sequence on the control valve and failed out. ~.- ~ / ! ]7.It is our understanding the bearings on pump 5 are going to be re-built in the maintenance phase of this project. SCADA System Report: last punch list is still being worked - will have status on Friday evening. Liquidated Damages Calculation: Revised Contract Completion Date (through C.O. #5): April 10, 1997 Final co~Tection to Eh~np No. 5 (fiber optic link to RTU): ]uly 28, 1997 Liquidated damages using 7/28/9? as date of acceptance: 109 days Damages at 5;500 per day: 5;54,500 Damages at 5;240 per day: 5;26, 1{50 Amount currently retained by the City (5% of work completed): 5;54,743.85 Other Items to discuss: I a~, o~ l, o Status of Deforest Lift Station Repairs (see sjf letter dated June 26, 1997): We have yet to get an official response to the City's notification concerning the lift station repairs. Ken I suggest you have at least a ball park figure and time frame for the repairs.
