Goram, Director of Public Wor RE: Maintenance and Quality Testing at Town Center The creation of the Building Maintenance division transpired on October 1, 1993. The Services Coordinator has been placed in charge of this division and solicited a proposal for the maintenance activities needed on the H.V.A.C. system located at Town Center, as well as other services needed to bring this system up to standard. Prior to October, little to no routine maintenance was performed on this system and therefore the equipment had deteriorated. Several minor activities have already taken place such as replacing the air filters with better quality ones, and the cleaning of those filters more regularly to improve the air filtration at the Town Center facility. Major maintenance activities were also necessary on the chiller pumps and air compressors at Town Center this year to date due to the deterioration. The firm the Services Coordinator has been working with regarding the proposal will provide the service requirements needed to bring the H.V.A.C. system at Town Center up to standard during the next 60 - 90 days; afterwards the firm will monitor and test this facility. Staff is developing a detailed maintenance program for the air condition and heating systems in each of the City facilities. This will extend the equipment's life at an economical cost and will provide a quality environment for staff to work. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please let me know.
