Dear Mr. Schoelerman:
At our November 27, 1996 meeting at the Station No. 2 jobsite with the City
Inspectors, Lee Stone informed me that your plumbing subcontractor drilled 8"
core holes through three grade beams for a 4" waste lateral. PSA took
measurements to locate these holes and based on our calculations the 2 -//8 bottom
reinforcing has been cut through. This being the case, these beams should be
removed and installed per the contract documents.
In the future, per Concrete Note No. 6, no openings shall be permitted through
beams unless shown on the structural drawings or reviewed by the structural
engineer.

Dear Dirk:
Per your fax dated I1/27/96 regarding 8" diameter Gore holes
through grade beams at three locations, we concur the bottom
reinforcing steel in the beams has probably been cut based on your
field measurements. These beams should be removed and installed
per contract documents.
