Copi~ll Fresh Water Supply Dlstrlot Mo. 17, whisk Dlntriot was
created prior to the time the City of Coppell was lnoorporated,
and
WllEREAS, the City Couaoil of tho City of Coppell~ did
on April 24, 1~4, adopt Ordin~noo Mo. 11 whteh adopted Artiole
1182o-1~ Vernon*s Annotated Civil Statutes, so ~o to
the City to abolish and take over ~ld Water Distrint~ and
WHeReAS, the City Counoll of the City of Coppell~ did
on ~y 5, 1~64, adopt Ordl~noe Mo. 1~ setting I/ay 8, 19~4 am
the date that said Water District would b~ abolished and the
date that the City would take over its operation, and
WRBREAti, on May 6, 1964, the City of Coppell did
physically take over the operation of said Distriot, and
· I~ERgAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell~ did
on ~aroh 1, 1965, adopt Ordinance No. 21 which adopted the pro-
visions of Clmpters 1 thzough 10 of Title 28~ V®rnon*s Annotated
Civil Statutes which are required to be adopted by Article 961,
Vernon's Annotated Civil St&tutee, and
WHKRKAS, thoro has been raised the question of whether
or not the City of Coppe~l, while operatin~ under the provisions
of Chapter 11, Vernonts .~nnotated Civil Statutes, and prior to
the adopttnf of the provisions required to bm adopted by
Arttole M1 of Vornonts annotated Civil 8tatutos, had tko
authority to adopt and use Article llSle-l, Vornon*s Annotated
Civil st&autos for the p~rpose of takinf over and operatin~ maid
Water Distrait, and
WHEREAS, (should it be necessary to do so), the City
Council of th-- City of Coppmll wishes to readopt Article
Vernon*s Annotated Civil Statutes, fix a new d~tm on whtoh maid
Water Distritt shall tM abolished and tis operations taken over
by the City, tad wishes to approve and ratify a~l aero of tho

Freeh Water SupplF District No. 17.
Section 2. That the governing body of the C~ty of
Coppell hereby finds that all of the territory of the Dallas
County-Coppoll Freeh Water Supply Dletrict No. 17 is looated
within the corporate ~mite of the Cit~ of Coppell, Texas, and
hereby fixes the ~. day of ~.~. , 1~6, as the
