Dear Mr. Kirk:
This letter is in response to your letter dated September 7, 2000, regarding the Woodside
Village Shopping Center located at 110 West Sandy Lake Road. In your letter you indicated
that you would like to have the City's approval and consent to "start the remediating process"
(restructuring and reconfiguring the supplied domestic water). As stated in the City's
Subdivision Ordinance, Section IX, D, "The construction plans shall be prepared by or under
the supervision of a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Texas and shall bear his
seal on each sheet.' As long as the engineering fu'm you have selected can comply with the
City's ordinances then the City will accept and review plans for the proposed water system
reconfiguration for the shopping center.
In regards to waiving tap charges (and impact fees associated with the new water tap), until I
have seen the proposed water system reconfiguration and determine how many new taps there
will be, I cannot comment on whether or not fees will be assessed. Please understand that
even if no new fees are assessed there will still be inspection fees associated with any new
construction that will need to be paid. The inspection fee is 2 % of the cost of work for private
improvements and 4 % of the cost for public improvements. Also there will be an additional
cost for any new meters associated with the proposed water system reconfiguration.
Should you have further questions or concerns, please contact me at 972-304-3679.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Martin, P.E.
Asst. City Engineer.
