Dear Phil:
During site visits to observe the construction of the referenced box culvert, it has come to
my attention that groundwater exists in the excavation area, to depths higher than
previously thought by this office. Due to this groundwater depth, we are requesting that
weepholes be installed in the sides of the box to assist in relieving groundwater pressures
that may exist upon completion of the box culvert. The weepholes to be installed shall be
as outlined on the attached detail.
