Village Parkway Pump Station Additions
Dear Mr. Daigre:
The SCADA system installed under your contact with the City of Coppell failed to send an alarm to the Water
and Waste Water Operators. This failure caused the Deforest Sanitary Sewer Lift Station to overflow,
submerging the dry and wet wells. In addition private residences experienced backups.
The situation was deemed an emergency to the safety and welfare of the general public and the City took the
necessary measures to begin the cleanup of the overflows. This was completed in accordance with the
General Provisions of the contract.
The City has estimated that the failure of the SCADA system will cost the City between $50,000 and $75,000.
The City intends to charge you for the actual cost in accordance Item 1.29.2 of the General Provisions of your
contract.
A meeting has been scheduled for 10:00 AM on June 25, 1997, at the Village Parkway Pump Station to
review the failures within this project. The focus will be directed on you and your subcontractors, as to what
is being done to resolve all of the problems that are reoccurring on this project.
