Experience
Mr. Dickerson has more than 20 years experience in criminal justice facility planning and design.
,.. His primary field of expertise involves project management for pre-architectural planning and
programming of correctional and detention, court, law enforcement, and general governmental
facilities. Additionally, Mr. Dickerson has provided over 45 technical assistance reports, needs
,-- assessment and design studies for county jails in the U.S., and was a Consultant Trainer to the
National Institute of Corrections for the Planning of New Institutions and Design Review

standards, space programming, space adjacency diagrams, operational plan, capital cost estimates,
staff projections, operations budget, and site studies.
Lakeland Police Department Headquarters; Lakeland, FL - Developed operational and pre-
architectural programs for 90,000 sf police department headquarters. Components included all
police administrative and field operation functions and a 911 center.

architectural programs for 250,000 sf governmental operations center. Components included
Sheriffs Dept., County Commissioner's offices and courtroom, County Clerk's office, EOC,

Grayson County Criminal Justice Center; Sherman, TX - Developed operational and pre-architectural
program for 84-bed detention facility and justice complex. Components of complex included sheriffs
department, four courtrooms, judges chambers, district attorney's offices, and detention facility.
Metropolitan-Da. de County Criminal Justice Facilities Master Plan Update; Miami, FL Developed ten-
- year master plan update for Metro-Dade County Criminal Justice System (6,000 beds). Tasks
included facilities evaluation of six detention facilities and five police substations in Miami area, space
needs projections, schedule for capital and operating budgets, staff projections, recommendations for
..,. renovation and future use of existing facilities, and breakdown of number of future beds according
to security level.
-. State of Hawaii Public Safety Department Ten-Year Corrections Master Plan (2,500 beds); Honolulu,
HI - Project required on-site project manager dedicated to project for nine months. Elements included
physical evaluation of nine correctional facilities, space needs development through year 2000,
-- schedule and capital budget for ten-year plan, recommendations for future use of existing facilities
according to system's security needs.
Manatee County Comprehensive Jail Plan; Bradenton, FL - developed operational and pre-
architectural programs for 1,000 bed detention facility. Project involved relocating all detention
functions to a remote site outside city limits. Also, involved converting downtown detention facility
-- into central booking facility and Sheriff Department administrative offices.
Smith County Jail; Tyler, TX - developed operational and pre-architectural programs for 260 bed
'- detention facility. Components included detention administration, support, programs, and inmate
housing.
Texas Department of Corrections Beto 1 Unit; Tennessee Colony, TX - developed preliminary design
for 4,000 bed correctional facility and managed project for three years.
Texas Department of Corrections Wynne Unit Addition; Huntsville, TX - developed preliminary
design for 400-bed addition and educational complex for correctional facility.
Leon County Detention and Sheriffs Department Facility; Tallahassee, FL - developed operational
