I wanted to touch base and thank you once again for your attendance at our meeting on Saturday morning. We received valuable input from you concerning the construction of Sandy Lake Road, and the impact it is having on your neighborhood. The following steps were taken today to address some of these concerns: 1. Insufficient lighting at the intersection – The City has requested Oncor to expedite the installation of a temporary light on the power pole at the northeast corner of the intersection of Sandy Lake and Winding Hollow. 2.Poor visibility exiting Winding Hollow onto Sandy Lake – The suggestion was made to install a temporary all- way stop at this intersection during construction. This has been approved, and will be installed no later than the end of the day on Wednesday. The signs on Sandy Lake will have flashers installed to alert the drivers of this important changed condition. 3.The monument sign at the entry is in the way and not lit – This sign is slated to be removed and replaced as part of the project. The contractor will expedite the sign removal, and we will work with representatives of the neighborhood to develop a new design for the sign and median landscaping upon replacement. 4.The Pavestone retaining wall is not attractive – We are discussing our options internally to address this issue. The city is leaning towards additional landscape screening in front of this wall. The safety concerns you brought up at the meeting are very important to us, and as such will be addressed as quickly as possible. The aesthetic issues may take a little longer to resolve, but we will continue working on them until we reach an appropriate resolution. 1 If you have any other concerns, or wish to discuss any of these issues further, please feel free to call or email. If you encounter immediate problems with the construction activity, please feel free to call the city Construction Inspector, Rick O’Dell at 469-576-7709. Thank you. Keith Marvin, P.E.
