We had a neighborhood meeting with the residents of Winding Hollow Lane this morning concerning
safety during our ongoing Sandy Lake Road widening project. One thing they expressed to us was that
the intersection of Winding Hollow and Sandy Lake Road is too dark at night. There was a street light on
the northwest corner of this intersection that was removed to accommodate the widening project. This
light will be restored at the end of the project, but we have committed to putting a temporary light in
service for the duration of the construction.
Please consider this a request to install a temporary “cobra head” light on the pole on the northeast
corner of this intersection. I have sent this to all three of you due to the importance, and time critical
nature of this request. If there is anything the city can do to expedite this request, please let me
know. If there is an alternative to the “cobra head” that could be put in place faster, please advise on
that as well.
