I received some feedback this afternoon from our contractor regarding the
filing of building permit applications for the three buildings we have
planned at the northeast corner of Burns St. and Freeport Parkway (Coppell
Commerce Center - Phase I, Block 1R). We asked them to file the Building
Dept. permit application and the civil construction permit application with
Engineering Dept. today. Apparently there was some misunderstanding with
Beverly in your office. They said she told them that they could not file
the building permit application until the plat was filed and a copy of the
filed plat submitted with the application. You had previously told me that
the permit application could be filed and the plans reviewed but that the
permit would not be issued until the record plat was filed. I had a similar
conversation at that time (August 2000) with the Engineering Dept. which I
have recently reconfirmed.
As you may know, the site plan and plat were approved at the council meeting
on 1-9-01. We have signed it and the record copy will be submitted to the
City for signature 1-17-01 (tommormw). In the meantime, we would
appreciate it if you could accept the permit application and review the
plans in anticipation of the record plat signatures from the City.
Also, I sent a letter to you earlier today via fax informing you of the
above in addition to our request regarding the building address. Please
