CF-TownC CHC-CS 860307 ARCHITECTURE PLANNING · INTERIORS March 7, 1986 Mr. Ed Powell City of Coppell 616 Coppell Road Coppell, Texas Re: Coppell Town Center Project No. 8457 Dear Mr. Powell: We are in a very touchy situation as far as time delays on this project, and money over-runs. In an effort to circumvent both of these costly situations, I want to remind you once again that critical decisions must be made on certain proposed changes that have been on your desk for some time now. The Contractor and myself had a meeting Wednesday, March 5th at the jobsite and again they asked me the status of these proposed changes. At that point I was not able to give the Contractor any information, and the Contractor informed me that they have to continue construction per contract documents, unless a written stop work order is received. The Contractor pointed out that the longer we wait, the more money possibly will be involved to redo or change any situation, Therefore, I am requesting any information pertaining to any proposed changes, specifically the hot items are: 1. The status of the 'vaUl~. We must know this as soon as possible due to hollow metal frame and door fabrication, lead times of up to eight weeks. 2. The computer room area at a cost of $3,310.00 which is Proposal Request No. 13 from the Architect and Proposal Change No. 35 from the Contractor. You have a copy of this. 3. A third hot item and one I must recommend be accepted is the window the Police Station. You also have a copy of that. This window would be needed to monitor the lobby and secure the movement of people in the after hours up to the library spaces. 2850 Lincoln Plaza · 500 North Akard · LB 16 · Dallas, Texas 75201-3394 · (214) 954-3100 McKinney Place · 3131 McKinney Avenue · Suite 850 - LB 113 · Dallas, Texas 75204 · (214) 871-9100 Mr. Ed Powell City of Coppetl/ March 7, 1986 Page Two Any other items such as the two extra bunks per holding cell that were priced at a cost of $936.00 for the installation of all four back in December, need to be decided upon. I might add that that cost will be somewhat higher since the quote was made over three months ago. If any other proposed changes need to be made, or accepted from the ones you already have, please notify our office as soon as possible so that we may implement these changes into the project without any further delays. If I may of any assistance on this or any other matter, please don't hesitate to call. Michael L.
