Re: Coppel~i Town Center
Project~No~.8457
Dear Jack:
With regard to our telephone conversation of January 13, 1986 concerning
the requirements for an additional water meter vault for the above refer-
enced project, I have been in contact with Mr. Steve Gorham of the City
of Coppell and have reviewed the project specifications and provide here'
with the following information in answer to your questions.
· Refer to SECTION 15000 - MECHANICAL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS of the Project
Manual, dated February 7, 1985.
PART I - GENERAL
1.2 CODES, FEES, PERMITS, STANDARDS AND INSPECTIONS
A. Ail work performed under these Specifications shall be in
strict accordance with all applicable City, County, State and National
Codes, Specifications and Ordinances, and in accordance with all Utility
Company regulations.
E. In case of difference between building codes, specifications,
state laws, industry standards and the Contract Documents, the most stringent
shall govern.
· Per my discussion with Mr. Steve Gorham of the City of Coppell, I have
been informed that the requirement for a separate vault to house the
water meter and backflow device is a requirement of the subdivision
ordinance which has been in effect for many years and applies to all
projects which are governed under the jurisdiction of the City of Coppell.
Mr. Gorham further advised that the City, for the past two years, has
provided Contractors with standard construction details which clearly
indicate the requirements of this subdivision ordinance.

In conclusion, it appears from the information as stated above, that the
sprinkler subcontractor is required by contract to meet all applicable
codes and the concrete vault in question is required to meet the Coppell
subdivision ordinance which applies to the Coppell Town Center project.
Should you have any questions or request additional information, please
do not hesitate to contact my office.
