MHA, in coordination with ~ Memorial Medical Center and Trinity Medical Center, is in the planning stages of a medical office complex in Coppell beginning with a clinic and medical staff offices. Mediplex Medical Building Corporation will also be involved with this project. The first phase is immediate and is contemplated to be a 36,000 gross square foot (30,000 net) professional office building. Area physicians have expressed an interest in such a facility and the MHA and the hospitals will continue to work with these physicians. Additionall}, RHD Memorial Medical Center and Trinity Medical Center have been involved in training programs for~aramedics in the Coppell. area and this provides further evidence of an ongoing relationship.with the City of Coppell and its citizens. Long-range plans for this 15 acre site include the addition of other .. medical facilities as needed. The second professional office building could commence construction approximately two (2) years after the first phase is open and is anticipated to be the same size. Its scope of service would '''' further expand outpatient capability which will be continuously evaluated. This need could possibly translate into a surgicenter and minor emergency center. As Coppell continues to expand, the need for facilities to accommodate overnight stays, i.e., hospital, will be evaluated in light of population growth, commercial development, and other demographic trends. A "needs assessment" will be conducted and based on all the data, a decision pertaining to a conventional or modified acute care facility will be made.
