CONSULTING ENGINEERS Phone: (214) 361-7900 Fax: (214) 361-0204 Subject: City of Coppell Village Parkway Pump Station Pre-Final Inspection Memorandum To: Larry Davis & North Texas Municipal Construction Co. From: Gary C. Hendricks, P-E. '~_~ ~ Date: April 3, 1997 At the request of Mr. Larry Davis, we have reviewed the Pre-Final Inspection items listed in our memo dated February 10, 1997, that needed attention, correction or repair at the Village Parkway Pump Station. We have added a few items to the list and removed items that have been addressed or repaired. The revised list represents the outstanding items of work as discussed in our meeting with the contractor and the City on March 27, 1997. Before a final walk through is scheduled, these items will need to be corrected or repaired. This memo is published for the benefit of the contractor and is not to be a final "punch list" nor comprehensive in nature. The City reserves the right to add items to the list as required, or modify its content at completion of the project. 1. NTMCC should field verify all piping layout and building dimensions and submit record drawing mark- ups to the Engineer. 2. The pump control hydraulic hose firings are leaking. 3. Seal all electrical conduit penetrations into beth the new and existing ceilings of the pump station. This includes SCADA conduit runs imo the ceiIing in the storage room on the west side of the building. 4. The existing motor control centers need to be cleaned and appropriate new labels applied. 5- Verify final configuration of the ventilation ductwork in the attic. 6- We noted several cracks in the concrete flatwork outside the building. The plans called for sawed dummy joints at 20 intervals. The smaller existing cracks need to be routed and sealed. Larry Davis and Bill reached an understanding as to locations for sawed joints. 7. Saw cut and grout the existing area ( 2'x 1 ') immediately east of the new concrete paving. (See Larry Davis for location) 8. Seal all Red Wood Pavement Joints on the new concrete pavement. 9. Clean and seal the mortar joints on the brick column extensions 10. Add a door stop to the door leading into the storage room on the west side of the pump station to keep the door from hitting the new electrical conduits. The current configuration of the electrical conduit penetrations into the building, block proper use of the existing door stop. 11. The requires a backflow preventer report for the new backflow prevent~r installed under this contract. See Larry Davis for contacts. 12. General clean-up is required in the existing pump station with particular attention given to the personnel doors and surrounding floor areas, the existing motor control centers, control room & control panels, stain and concrete sidewalks and driveways. 13. All disturbed ground areas ( storage areas, excavations and trenches) will require re-seeding. 14. The roof is leaking near the pump station front door. Locate and repair leak. 15. All repairs to the irrigation system must be completed. An irrigation system walk through will need to be scheduled with the City' s Leisure Services Department after all the repairs have been completed. J:'~Coppell%9~ilS6~.L~Conlf~insl_i2.dQ4:
