Cottonwood Est-CS 940531The City With A Beautiful Future P.O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 214-462-0022 May 31, 1994 Ms. Susan E. Weaver Bury-Pittman Consulting Engineers and Surveyors Three Lincoln Center Suite 1236 5430 LBJ Freeway Dallas, Texas 75240 RE: First Construction Review Comments for 149 Cottonwood Drive Grading and Drainage Improvements. Dear Ms. Weaver: The City of Coppell has received the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer: Provide a title sheet on the next set of review plans. 2. In Section A-A of the modified Y-Inlet, the vertical wall thickness may need to be at least 8 inches. 3. Provide two vertical supports for the modified Y- inlet. Revise the Section A-A detail to show the placement and size of the supports, revised rebar sizes, and the three manhole covers needed with the two vertical supports. 4. No fill is allowed beyond the floodway easement line. 5. Grade to drain and spread the water concentration out more at the location shown on sheet 1. 6. Reference City of Coppell Standard Construction Detail Sheet SD10 Section D-D 12' and 14' only inlets instead of sheet SD14. In the plan view of the modified Y-inlet, the distance between the two proposed 42" R.C.P's may need to be 18". 8. Show the top of the spillway elevation on sheet 2 of the profile of the spillway looking north. What about the possibility of constructing a junction box to make R.C.P connections and then building one or two Y-inlets off the side of the junction box instead of the modified Y-inlet design? There are various other minor comments throughout these plans. Once these comments have been addressed, the revised set of plans should be resubmitted to the City for review. If you should have any questions concerning these comments, please feel free to contact me at 393-1016. Sincerely, Atul Patel, .. Graduate Engineer
