Reconstruction - Coppell, TX Andrew, I had previously reviewed this project for Atmos. After re-reviewing the design with Gary Woolsey, we do not see any issue with separation mentioned below. Please be advised, that our calculations are based off a maximum 16,000 lb load per axle and if there is any equipment that is heavier Atmos will have to be contacted to re-evaluate this crossing. Also, the 4.76 ft separation is for the finally grade with the pavement. Please notify Atmos, if the construction grade falls below 4 ft and/or a wheel load greater than 16,000 lb. Reconstruction - Coppell, TX Gary, Scott Gibson who you spoke with the other day forwarded me your contact information. I am writing to you in regards to a different project – Sandy Lake Rd. in Coppell. Specifically I want to talk to you about the separation from our top of pavement to the top of the 24” Atmos gas line crossing Sandy Lake from northwest to southeast. I have attached our paving plan and profile sheet, cross sections showing our clearance from your line, and our Level ‘A’ test holes that gave us the elevations of the 24” gas line. We have kept our profile as high as we possibly can to achieve a 5’ separation from top of pavement to top of pipe. Where your line intersects with our south curb line, there is a separation of 4.76’. This is the smallest separation. As your line heads north, it drops in elevation so that the majority of your line under our pavement will be at least 5.00’ below the top of pavement. By the time the gas line intersects with our north curb line, there is a separation of 7.82’. We are unable to raise our profile any higher due to the fact we would prevent drainage from adjacent lots to reach the street, effectively ponding water on private property. Please let me know if this design will be acceptable with Atmos in regards to our paving profile.
