I’ve asked Parks whether we can eliminate the “B” Controller as we discussed by phone yesterday. Thanks. Sandy Lake Road this week (release for bid Friday). In addressing Engineering review comments and making the last minute corrections to the plans, the question arose about the 36-station irrigation controller “B” we call to irrigate the one median of the streetscape. That median being the one between the bridge and South Coppell Road. (fronting Thweatt Park), and having 6 proposed zones of irrigation. In an effort to minimize electrical meters, Keith’s review of the plans asked whether we could add the 6 “B” zones to controller “A” (controller “A” has room to do so). My response to Keith was I would double check with you – that we were spec’ing the “B” controller for simplifying the roadway construction phasing AND providing a new controller for Thweatt Park irrigation. We are now of the understanding that both phases of W. Sandy Lake Road will be bid and built together by one contractor. Therefore, construction phasing is no longer an issue for the “B” controller need. Is it still your desire to use the “B” controller to connect the Park’s irrigation? FYI, as of now our plans call for the “B” controller to be placed near the southeast corner of the new bridge, and NOT convert any Park irrigation controls to this new clock. If Park irrigation is to eventually be added to this controller, then Keith said he will visit with you about sharing that cost. Please advise whether Parks sees a need to have a “B” controller. I can provide plans if needed for your decision…or refer to the latest set provided you (those have not changed too much). Thanks.
