Subject: Cottonwood Branch CLOMR - Comment Clarifications
Brad,
We had an opportunity yesterday to meet with the City and discuss the CLOMR comments. Keith recommended that I
contact you in regards to some uncertainty with a few of the comments. In particular, there are three comments (listed
below) for which I would like to request some additional clarification from you.
Any clarification or details that you can provide will be much appreciated, as it will help us adequately address the
comments.
9.“The proposed condition HEC-RAS model does not appear to be consistent with the proposed improvements
at cross-section 12868.”
Can you please provide some detail regarding which portion of the section you are in disagreement with or what
you would like to see at this section? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. The proposed condition
HEC-RAS geometry at this section matches existing condition, and does not reflect the proposed improvements
located along the left channel bank and left overbank.
11.“The proposed condition HEC-RAS model does not appear to be consistent with the proposed improvements
at cross-section 9590.”
Same as above. The workmap shows two levels of gabion walls along the right channel bank; however, the
model only shows one.
12.“Proposed condition floodplain delineations are not consistent with the topographic information shown on
the workmaps. Floodplain delineations should be verified.”
Can you please provide some detail regarding which sections of the workmaps this is in regards to? Is it on both
workmaps? Is it in regards to floodplain top-widths? Elevations? Any clarification would be greatly
appreciated. The post-project floodplain delineation on the Sandy Lake Road workmap does not properly follow
existing or proposed contours, and the delineation through the bridge is inconsistent with the proposed
improvements.

Again, any clarification you can provide will allow us to better respond to these comments. Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Niraj
