Subject:. Water Usage for Dallas Gun Club A. I. From the period of 8/9/96 to 9/11/96, the Dallas Gun Club used 2,056,700 gallons of water. The water bill for this period was $5,363.62. Enos, the City meter reader, read the meter on 9/11/96 and reported at that time that the meter was stuck. It seems that water was going through the meter but it was not registering the flow. The meter had registered 2,056,700 gallons for the period of 8/9/96 to 9/11/96. However, the City does not know how much was unmetered for this particular time period due to the fact the meter was stuck and stopped when 2,056,700 gallons had passed through it. II. As stated before Enos read the meter on 9/11/96. He reported that the meter was stuck to Public Services on 9/13/96. Public Services - Utilities employee, Joe Garza, changed out the meter on 9/13/96 and installed a new meter. III. Water Billing mailed bills out on 9/15/96. The Dallas Gun Club called Water Billing on 10/9/96 concerning the $5,363.62 water bill for the period 8/9/96 to 9/11/96 and stated they did not receive this bill until 10/6/96. This part of the history of this bill is from 8/9/96 to 9/11/96. B. I. Concerning the second month high readings, Public Services changed out the meter on 9/13/96 by Utilities Worker, Joe Garza. A new meter was installed at this time, and the work was completed. II. On 10/9/96, the meter was read again for the billing period 9/11/96 to 10/9/96. Water Billing determined that the Dallas Gun Club had used 5,378,800 gallons of water. The water bill for this period was $14,001.08. On 10/9/96, Linda Hayes in Water Billing received a phone call from Donna and Denny from the Dallas Gun Club concerning the water bills over the past month. At that time, Linda Hayes had the meter read 3 times between 10/9/96 and 10/10/96. Linda called the Dallas Gun Club to inform them that it appeared they still had a leak. Furthermore, on 10/10/96, Matt Cast, Superintendent of Public Services, called the Dallas Gun Club and spoke with Denny Page about the various meter readings that occurred between 10/9/96 and 10/10/96. Matt suggested to Denny that the Gun Club still had a possible leak and that their entire water system should be looked at to determine any additional leaks. On 10/14/96, Matt Cast called Water Billing to get an update on usage at the Dallas Gun Club. David, the City Meter Reader, read meters on 10/14/96 for usage from 10/9/96 to 10/14/96. The Gun Club had a reading of 53,788 on 10/9/96 and a reading of 54,230 on 10/14/96 which is equivalent to 44,200 gallons of water used during a 5 day period. After this amount of gallons was determined Linda Hayes in Water Billing called Denny of the Dallas Gun Club to inform him of the City's findings concerning the 5 day usage of water.
