Dear Mr. Doyle:
We have reviewed the proposed median break along Denton Tap Road that is to be shared between the Bill
Thompson property and North Lake Nursery (Joe Bob Fikes). The nursery from time to time has trucks that
will need to negotiate turns both into and out of this area. This existing condition requires adequate driveway
widths on both sides of a power pole that is planned as the center line of both the median opening on Denton
Tap Road and the center line for the driveways for these tracts.
Per calculations, these drives should each be 35' minimum width, with 20' radius corner returns on both
south and north ends. The median should also have a 75' opening. This will reduce possibilities of trucks
damaging the curbs and medians and thereby will be more cost efficient to the City in the long run.
We have spoken with John Kahrlsruher regarding these driveway returns and median break, and he has stated
no objection, but evidently needs your comments/approval to proceed accordingly.
There is a sketch of the described design attached, and should you have any questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
NATHAN D. MAIER
