Subject:
Status of sewer easement contruction by Creekview
Estates
Ref: Letter of August 26th.
Dear Mr. Ratliff,
The Creekview engineering staff and Mr. Craig Olden have devised
a fix that will protect the creek bank in and around the subject
sanitary sewer crossover/easement. I have reviewed the sketches
and re-drawn the proposal to add the necessary dimensions and
details to insure that the construction will provide adequate
erosion protection for the easement and adjacent creek bank.
It is manditory that the wall to be constructed is extended both
upstream and downstream of the disturbed area comprising the
easement (shown in the enclosed drawings). Due to the placement
of the sewer line, in the bend of the creek; any other configura-
tion would eventually wash out. Therefore, in my opinion, the
proposed solution enclosed herein, represents an adequate fix.
Needless to say, a 100 ft.long Gabion, 12 ft. high, would be the
Ultimate Permanent Solution as proven by the Gabion which has
been in place behind 217 Meadowcreek for the past five years. How-
ever, the proposed construction represents an equitable solution
for all parties concerned and I therefore recommend the City engi-
neer review and approve the enclosed drawing dated October 15, 1988.
