Creekview Add PD-CS 881021 (2) ~ COPPELL PUBLIC WORKS FRO~.' ~Chief Developmental Inspector RE~ Creekffie~ / Sanitary Sewer Aerial Crossing On 10/2 8~@ 10:00 a.m. we had a meeting at the Service Center. Attending the meeting were Bill Thompson, Nathan Maier, Peter Staks, Russell Doyle, Shohre Daneshmand, amd myself. The subject of discussion was the area where the aerial creek crossing (Line "A") 15' easement that runs through Mr. Johnson's property. The discussion was centered around the bank protection on Mr. Johnson's property. Ail parties present reviewed and discussed the proposals submitted by Craig Olden and Mr. JoHnson's revisions (attached). Briefly Peter Staks submitted a erosion protection 'design for Mr. Johnson's approval. Mr. Johnson countered with his own design, showing the bag wall to be strengthened in wall thickness, in extending height, and lengthened. The problem is Mr. Johnson wants this wall extended approximately 38' upstream from our easement or the 15' area that was disturbed in construction. The joint consenus was the extension of wall 38' upstream was not necessary and could cause erosion to be put on property owner next to Mr. JoHnson, where he wants the wall to end. The wall would not stop normaL1 bank erosion associated with creeks of this kind and could possibly cause damage' to piers if it washed out and would indeed change the natural condition of the present bank that was not impacted by this crossing. Peter Staks, speaking for Nathan Maier Engineering, said that they had no problem with increasin~ thickness and height of the bag wall. The length of wall would be approxmately 12"± upstream of easement and 10'± downstream to protect bank from any potential water deflection by pier. It was the mutual consensus of all present that Mr. Johnson's requirement for this structure to be extended 38' upstream of easement would serve no purpose and if Mr. Johnson wants to .pursue his personal design demands it will be a matter between Nathan Maier, Thompson, and himself. The, City can not hold Nathan Maier or Thompson responsible to add anything outside of the 15' easement that was not affected or impacted by the construction of the 8"sanitary sewer aerial crossing.
