Subject: Revisions to the 1997 Schedule of Charges
Enclosed are revisions to the 1997 Schedule of Charges. Specifically, these changes/revisions affect
the following:
(1) Trash Charges, effective February 1, 1997
(2) Compactor Monitor Charge, effective April 1, 1997
(3) Construction Permit and Plan Review Fees, effective January 1, 1997.

Also, in light of the new rates for solid waste disposal, DFW International Airport would like to
inform you of the airport-wide recycling program. The recycling program was implemented in an
effort to defray solid waste disposal costs while creating an environmentally friendly atmosphere.
The recycling program encompasses primarily "high grade" white ledger and computer paper, mixed
office paper, and cardboard and wood pallets. There is no charge for the recycling service. This
program is administered through the Environmental Services section of Airport Maintenance. For

Schedule of Charges
Notice of Revision
The attached pages reflect changes and revisions to the Schedule of Charges as amended for Fiscal
Year 1997. The revised Trash Charges are effective February 1, 1997; the Compactor Monitor
charge is effective April 1, 1997. These changes supersede those in the original published
document.

D. Trash and Incinerator
Trash removal and disposal charges are based on operating and maintenance costs allocable to this system
in addition to the size and quantity of trash containers arid thc frequency of service. Thc trash rcmoval
charge is $$.00 per cubic yard plus apl~licablc sales tax.
Revised Trash Clfltrges: Effective February 1, .1997
Loose Waste hauled Monday through Saturday by front-load-packer $ 3.50 per cubic yard

There will be an additional 20% charge per cubic yard-for:truck hauls'on'Sunday.
The cubic yard char. ge.is based on the size Of the conlai~r and includes'sales tax payable to the State of
Texas. For example, a tenant with an 8',.yard container would'be billed$28.00 each time the container
is emptied. The Finance Department will submit the applicable $2.08 :sales -tax:_to. the State of Texas.
Customers can either have a regularly scheduled.service or be put On a "call in" basis. This could be
beneficial for customers who don't normally fill their-containers e~ery week. Customers should try to
match the container, amount of waste, and preferred service schedule.
The Compactor Monitor charge is non-inclusive of state sales tax.
Incinerator charges for non-tenam air carriers in Terminal 2W, Section C, is $250 per bum. There is a
one hundred (100) pound minimum per bum.

Construction Permit and Plan Re~iew Fees
A construction permit approved by the Building Official is required for the erection,
construction, enlargement, alteration, moving, improvemem, removal, conversion or
demolition of any building or structure regulated by the DFW International Airport
Construction and Fire Prevention Standard. Both a plan review fee and construction permit
fee are required for all projects requiring a permit. Federal 'Gbvernment profeCts are exempt

The fee for each permit is based upon the value of all construction work for which the permit
is issued including finish work and permanent equipment. The permit fee shall be paid prior
to the issuance of a construction permit. The following table shall be used to determine the
permit fee:

Plan Review Fee
Thc plan rcvicw fcc shall bc paid at thc ti.,,c eonstraetion plm-n arc submitted for approval. The cost of
the plan review is sixty-five (65) percent of the cost of the building permit fee. Therefore, the Thc
combined cost of the plan review fee and the building permit fee is one-hundred and sixty-five (165)
percent of the fee value derived from the above table.
