I’m sorry to hear about the damage to your vehicle, but I’m glad to hear that your wife was not injured. As you can probably tell from the ongoing construction, the Sandy Lake Road project has been quite challenging. Maintaining traffic across the existing bridge while building enough of the new bridge to put two way traffic on it represented one of the biggest challenges of the project. In order to get to the point where we can begin the demolition of the old bridge, we have actually built about one-third of the new bridge. This has required traffic to move further south on the new bridge than it will be when the entire structure is complete. Once we have completed the rest of the bridge, you will see this jog on both sides of the bridge removed. 1 I have included a copy of the sheets from the construction plans showing the final roadway alignment across the bridge. I know these plans can be difficult to interpret, so please feel free to call me with any question you may have when you have had a chance to look at them. Thank you for your continued patience during this difficult project. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. I know your busy. I wanted to get a time stamp of our conversation, so please be kind enough and respond that you receive this email. To review, I believe there seems to be an engineering problem at the new bridge between South Coppell Rd and North Coppell Rd on Sandy Lake Road. Instead of a straight flow of the road meeting the bridge. It zig zags coming on and going off the bridge heading east. The first day it was open there were already tire marks of others hitting the curb. 3 of our neighbors also experienced this uncomfortable design, which we believe, is an error in the engineering. Especially since this new bridge just opened in the last week or so. 2 Yesterday afternoon, Sunday, April 27th, around 4pm, my wife Ruby hit and damaged the front right tire of our navigator. I would hate to know what might have happened if she had been driving her small car. I have been sent a claim form from Coppell to submit for the damages, thank you. But I want to make sure this observation has been noted. We would hate to see some terrible happen later. Thank you again for your time Sincerely, Bob Cochran, CEO Corporate Office Memories For Ever www.everythinggraduation.com Office 469-688-9127 Fax 469-533-1511 “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!” by John C. maxwell 3
