Keith,
Please find attached revised sheet 42 with a landing at the connection of the 5’ sidewalk along S. Coppell Rd. to the 8’
trail. We looked at running a 2% longitudinal grade from the curb ramp to this connection point, but this would result in
lowering the trail 1.13’. We were hesitant to do this as the trail is located above the Atmos gas line and Charter cable
line that have already been relocated.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks,
Andrew

Agree. Change it to the less intrusive option that runs 5% between landing and ramp… (only 0.15’ lower). Will you send it
to the City, please?

Chris and Mitch,
I have attached the trail profile so that you can see two options - the trail running at 2% longitudinally from the
beginning of the trail through the connection with the 5’ sidewalk along S. Coppell Rd, and also if we just provide a
landing at the connection to the 5’ sidewalk and run 5% between that landing and the ramp. The first option lowers the
trail 0.73’, the second option only 0.15’. Please note that having to revise the trail profile to bring the ramp into TAS
requirements already dropped the trail 0.40’. If we run the trail at 2% through that landing at the connection w/ the 5’
sidewalk, we would be dropping the trail 1.13’ from the original design.
I have attached the Time Warner and Atmos relocation plans that I received when I first started working on this project. I
was not involved in the utility relocation process so I can’t confirm if Atmos relocated to the depth shown on their plans
or the elevation Time Warner’s 4” conduit was placed.
I’ll call you in a minute to discuss.
Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew
Keith called earlier today with some comments about this drawing and the detail indicating the ramp intersection.
I’ve asked Mitch to follow up with you to discuss details.
Thanks

Chris,
Please find attached the final two revised sheets.
Sheet 42 has been revised to provide a clear floor/ground space at the pedestrian push button at the intersection. The
result is the ramp has been flattened to 2% and the trail has been lowered 0.40’ for approximately 300’. We had to go
this far because the trail was already at 5% slope and could not catch up until the crest of the hill. We also provided a
detail showing the cross slope transition of the sidewalk along S. Coppell Rd. tying into the trail. These changes were
coordinated with, and approved by Bob Davies.
Sheet 98 has had note #7 added to reference details that give requirements for clear floor or ground space and vertical
height requirements for the push buttons.
These revisions should address all remaining comments from Bob.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
3
Andrew
