Coppell Greens-CS120906Mr. LaBerge, I did not see erosion from the north property to justify me calling the City of Lewisville for resolution on this situation. You are more than welcome to contact the City of Lewisville or the property owner to discuss this issue further. Thank You, George George S. Marshall, P.E. That, and water from our nearby storm drains, are the only source of water for the pond. The pond has now been dredged twice. As I understand it, the City paid for it the first time. We paid for it a couple of years ago now and it wasn't cheap ( approx $30K). Even though the property north of us is mostly vegetated, one would have to assume that the silt it filling our pond is coming down stream from their property. If you looked closely you might have noticed the old silt fence that is there which is no longer of any value. Once they develop their property, however, I would anticipate this problem will go away if they cover most of area and install a storm drainage system. It would be appreciated if they put in some silt fences along their swale and at least attempted to mitigate the problem. In addition, Coppell Greens could also put in some silt fence in the locations where we planted the decorative grasses. I have attached the aerial. I also noticed that they are no longer aerating their pond with a fountain like they used to, which may be contributing to our mosquito problem. Please let me know if you take any action. I took a few photos of the area and did not see the erosion you were talking about. In fact, I saw an area that looked real good in terms of slope stabilization. In a channelized area such as the segment through Coppell Greens it is not uncommon to see sediment from underneath the grassed area to deposit downstream. This is the natural progression of a streambed. The photos are attached. Please let me know if I was looking in the wrong area. Thank You, George George S. Marshall, P.E.
