Subject: 102 Winding Hollow
Mrs. Stinson,
Thank you for meeting with Rick O’Dell and I this afternoon to discuss
the effects of the Sandy Lake Road construction on your property. The
following bullet points summarize the discussion and the commitment of
the city.
1. You pointed out trash and debris that has been left in your
yard by the workers. This will be cleaned up today, and we will work
with the contractor to ensure lunch wrappers and drink cans/bottles/cups
are cleaned up at the end of each work day.
2. There are one or more telephone poles on the ground near the
back of your lot. We will work with the contractor to get those hauled
off.
3. We discussed the grading and appearance of the Pavestone
retaining wall along the side and front of your property. We will
reduce the height of the wall along Winding Hollow as we complete the
final grading. We have also committed to installing landscaping on the
low side of the wall to soften the visual appearance of the wall from
your home.
4. We discussed the median island in Winding Hollow. The city
included the cost of replacing the monument sign and brick pavers that
were removed from this island as part of the project in the contract
with Tiseo Paving. We need to finalize the plan for the replacement
sign and landscaping/groundcover with Mr. Osterberger so this can be
completed.
5. We also discussed the relocation of the Verizon box that
currently sits in front of your house. Representatives of Verizon were
on site to discuss options. Verizon has agreed to relocate the above
ground box around the corner to the Sandy Lake side, and across Winding
Hollow. This will put the box in a similar location to where it had
been before the street widening began. Unfortunately this work will
take time to complete. Verizon staff indicated it would likely be
February before they are able to remove the existing box. City staff
has committed to help Verizon with this work in any way we can.
Rick and I appreciate your time this afternoon. Please call either one
of us if you have any questions, or if you feel like I have left
anything off this list.
Thank you.
Keith
