See below and attached gabion plans. This represents
the changes we discussed last week. As discussed, this work will be
completed under our current contract, and will be included in the
two-year maintenance period. The design engineer would like to
negotiate this change with you directly, and intends to fund the cost
themselves.
Please review the attached drawings and prepare a change

Keith,
As promised here are the updated drawings for
the gabion work around the bridge at Sandy Lake Road. This submittal
includes the following sheets:
· 25-A Removal Plan – This sheet
provides details of the gabion work to be removed including the section
of the wall that has overturned at the SE corner. A table summarizing
the removal quantity is also included on the sheet.
· 25-B Gabion Repair and Modification
Plan – This sheet provides details for the revised gabion layout. We’re
certainly open to any suggestion that the sub-contractor may have to the
design. We
· 25-C Grading Plan (North)
· 25-D Grading Plan (South)
· 25-E Gabion Details (updated)
We’ve also included a spec for Turf
Reinforcement Mat for the SE corner. Due to the flow conditions in this
section we wanted to provide the additional measure of reinforcement for
the embankment.
As we have discussed, TNP would like to
negotiate directly with Tiseo (or their gabion sub) directly regarding
the costs of these improvements. I’m not sure of the best approach to
contract for these improvements but would like to visit with you soon
about options. My preference would be for us to negotiate/contract
directly with the gabion sub but that may not be the best scenario for
the City. We’ll continue to discuss best approach for contracting for
these improvements as we work thru the pricing/negotiations.
