Assistant Dir/erctor of Public Works City of Co[7~eli 732 Defopst Road Coppell,/I'exas 75019 Re: Fire Hydrant Pressure Recorders Pressure Readings Dear Mr. Hollowell: As you requested, we deployed the six (6) fire hydrant pressure recorders at the locations shown on the attached meter location map (First Location) on June 7, 2001. The fire hydrant recorders were relocated on June 25 (Second Location) and again on July 5, 2001 (Third Location) to the locations shown on the attached meter location map. On the June 14, 2001, June 25, 2001, June 29, 2001, and July 5, 2001 the data was downloaded from the pressure recorders. Using the data, we have prepared the two (2) copies of the enclosed six charts for each date for your preliminary review and evaluation, illustrating the pressures encountered at the meter locations. Through conversation with the manufacturer of the pressure recorders, we have discovered that the meters were programmed as 100 psi meters instead of 200 psi meters. This caused the pressure meters to register and record pressures that were one-half the actual pressure. This is why the previously submitted pressure charts appeared extremely low for the selected locations. The six pressure meters have since been reprogrammed by our firm to record actual pressures. Our next meter reading is scheduled for this Friday, July 13, 2001, but will not require City personnel participation. Our next meter reading and meter relocation that will require the City's assistance is scheduled for Monday, July 23,2001 at 6:30 a.m. A representative of our firm will call to coordinate this assistance. We are available to discuss this project further at your convenience. Sincer y~~/~...~/~ ~ / c:losures Mr. Kenneth M.
