This past Tuesday a truck knocked down one of the span wires supporting the traffic signals at 121 @ Freeport that lead to a response from the City of Grapevine Police, Fire and Public Works. My concern is what is standing does not match the details on sheet 877 of the plans. Specifically what is built does not have the addition support span that is attached at the top of the wood poles and each signal that carries most of the load. In my experience what is shown on sheet 877 is typical for a temporary span wire intersection Dallas district TXDOT, also the hardware and number of down guys don't match the details. I can't help but think that because of the length of the span that got knocked down combined with the absence of the support span show on the details that likelihood of the span getting knocked down is increased. Please let me know your perspective how the detail sheets should be applied to this project. Thank you. Francis Bishop Traffic Operations Manager 817-410-3373 817-410-3562 (Fax) 1
