Subject: Southwestern Blvd Construction
Bridge beams will be set on the new bridge being constructed on Southwestern Blvd. tomorrow (12/15/2009). This activity will take most of the day. Trucks will begin arriving in town
as early as 4:30am. Each truck will carry one beam, and there will be a total of 18 trucks. Each beam is approximately 50 feet long.
Twelve trucks will stage on the south side of Southwestern Blvd. between Coppell Road and Freeport Parkway. I have instructed them to extend their construction barricades to encompass
the staged trucks, and to remain clear of the fire station driveways and fire hydrants. Six additional trucks will stage on the south side of Airline Drive west of Belt Line Road.
These trucks should also be barricaded. Trucks will then move into position one at a time.
Beam placement will begin at approximately 8:30am and last through approximately 2:30pm. During this time traffic flow will be restricted. Flaggers will be used to stop traffic while
the beams are being moved, then one lane at a time will be allowed to pass. In the event of an emergency response, every effort will be made to expedite emergency apparatus through
the work area.
The construction inspector for this project is Rick O'Dell, and he will be on site during this activity. He can be reached on his cell phone at 469-576-7709.
If you have any questions, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me on my cell phone at 469-576-0664, or via email.
