Re CHANGE ORDER 1 FOR COPPELL ROAD (3)I think we need to use flowable fill. If that makes the cost go up, get me the number. I would be more comfortable with this if we backfill to the top of this box with flowable fill. Would that be an additional cost, or had you planned it that way already? Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681 >>> "Marty Murphy" <Martym@JRJPaving.com> 8/28/2009 10:52 AM >>> Keith If I understand your question correctly, we will have a piece of 36" RCP between the manhole and the box structure for the connection just as if it were two manholes. I believe we will be placing a steel casing over the pipe and will have to use ram neck or a rubber gasket around the casing. The settlement issue should not be a problem as it will be backfilled just as would a manhole and the adjoining RCP. Brian, correct me if I am wrong. I need the pricing on the water/storm box in Bethel in order to do that. Please send it over as soon as you can. I need the final dollar amount for this change so I can work on the sewer line change that needs to go to City Council. If we don't have the numbers for CO #1 by Monday, then I can't do CO#2, and we will miss the window for the 9/8 council meeting. If we miss that meeting, we will not be able to get the sewer line approved until the 9/22 City Council Meeting. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. They are now contacting our City Manager directly. I am still holding invoice number 9 in the amount of $74,377.97. The city does not intend to hold this invoice much longer, but we need to have a resolution to this issue. If JRJ is not able to settle the issue with FWWR by April 30, 2010 the city will withhold the $7,180 due from this invoice, and process the balance for payment. The city will then make payment to FWWR from project funds. Please let me know by 4/30/10 whether you have come to an agreement with the railroad. Keith Marvin, P.E.
