FW Retail 1I keep forgetting to ask you guys something.
Freese designed a 5x10 planter, leaving only a 4’-6” sidewalk behind
every treewell.
Since the entire retail-services block will only get a tree-form
Savannah Holly and not a cedar elm tree, I recommend changing the
treewell to 4’-6” x 10’ exclusively on this block.
I don’t think the public would ever notice; should not affect angled
parking use since this will never be a large-caliper tree and the plant
should fit fine.
This area facing the square will be the heaviest pedestrian space and a
five-foot walk would probably be of higher value.
The fence in front of this building makes the problem more pronounced.
Thanks,
Gregory K. Yancey
