Re FW Old Town Coppell (2)Dan,
Robert does not appear to understand what we are doing with this
parking lot irrigation. The drawings that James is working on will
serve as the formal request.
I'm still frustrated with what appears to me to be a fundamental lack
of understanding on the scope of the project. These additional valves
have been Coppell's to maintain since City Council directed us to build
the parking lot. The change to the plans is not changing the
maintenance responsibility, it's simply tying these valves into one of
the controllers included in the original drawings.
I agree with the contractor in that we need to meet to clarify what
we're doing. That meeting should take place here in our office, and
needs to include Engineering and Parks staff, as well as JRJ, their
irrigation sub-contractor, and the appropriate members of FNI's design
team. I would like to see us have that meeting after the parking lot
drawings are available to give to the contractor.

Dan: I believe this will be an extra to the contractor - we didn’t know
about this. But apparently the City wants these added. We need to issue
a formal request to have this included see below.

Subject: Re: Old Town Coppell
I have been able to talk with Kevin Price at the City of Coppell and
James Pole about the Old Town Coppell project.
Controller 1 has 8 Stations + Master Valve/Flow Meter Controller 2 has
14 Stations on the plans + Master Valve/Flow Meter and an addition of 12
valves that were once not Coppell's to maintain.
That has changed and the 12 valves will be added to Controller 2.
That will make Controller 2 having a total of 27 valves. There will
need to be 2 pairs of wires ran from the controllers to the Master
Valves. One pair will be for the Solenoids and the other pair for the
Flow Meters. Typically it is just 14 gauge wire but usually colors that
are not Red and White.
Here are the part numbers:
IS-R1A-RU-SS 12 Station Irrinet M Pedestal (Controller 1)
IS-R3A-RU-SS 36 Station Irrinet M Pedestal (Controller 2)
2- IS-BM-20-AC-10 2 AC ARAD Hydrometer (Combined Master Valve and Flow
Meter)
The Controllers and Flow Meters are available at Longhorn via Matt Swor
@ 214-882-8731.
