RE COR 12R final change order 7-13-12 doc (2)Actually you just pointed out to me that we had another sod pay item, I was not aware and obviously did not see this other pay item. Where did you get the 7781sy quantity from on the lump sum pay item 147? This would put their unit price at $2.15/sy which is really cheap so I want to verify this quantity. If the 7781sy is correct then you are correct we have nothing else to talk about it is covered under the contract, I guess I just missed this item. I’m confused on the sod quantity issue. Our contract documents have two pay items for sod. Item 147 is a lump sum “block sodding”, with an estimated quantity of 7,781 square yards. Pay item number 262 is for “turf – common Bermuda”, with a quantity of 324 SY. In addition, we added 838 square yards of “turf – common Bermuda” as part of change order number 5 for the parking lot. This means we have a total contract quantity of sod of approximately 8,943 Square yards. Since item 147 is listed a lump sum, I have no intention of dickering over a minor quantity discrepancy. If you can substantiate a difference of 10% or greater over the lump sum amount, we can continue the conversation, but what you’ve submitted so far shows less than half of the contract amount. I’ll send a preliminary change order over tomorrow for your review. In the meantime, if you have additional sod measurements you want me to consider, please send them asap. Keith Marvin, P.E.
