Mike,
Greg and I discussed the transformer issue yesterday. I understood
that Greg would discuss the possibility of dedicating an easement behind
the ROW to place these transformers. If we are able to do that, this
will be a non issue.

As a follow up to my previous email, I have looked at the visibility
triangle again. The location where the vehicle would be located in the
driveway ( 15 feet back from face of curb ) has an elevation
approximately equal to the top of curb where the transformer is located.
Also, the height of the driver’s eye is typically 3.5 foot above the
ground at that point. Therefore, even if we end up with a transformer
that is 3.0 feet in height, the driver will be able to look over the
transformer.

We are preparing the final sidewalk plan and I have a question for you.
At the alley intersection with Houston Street and Travis Street, there
are some electric transformers in the area of a visibility triangle.
These transformers are 30-36 inches in height and the ordinance says
that the visibility height is 30 inches. If we end up with a
transformer that is 36 inches in height, will that be okay?
