street name bladesi just talked to my striping sub, he reminded me that there are mounting
brakcets that are sold seperately fromthe blade itself and the brackets
have to be powder coated as well. the blades are costing him $65/each
and the brackets are $35/each then he has to powder coat them and
install them. i checked my files on another project that bid at the saem
time as this one and is ongoing right now, the street sign post, stop
sign and street blades is
$404.25/each so these prices are not that far out. if the city can
purchase these signs as cheap as you mentioned then is ti an option to
have you purchase the street blades and mounting brackets, we can send
them out to be powder coated and install them and reprice this that way.
i do not think it is fair for you to think that we should be making all
kinds of assumptions at the time of bidding, the plans and
specifications dictate how we bid these projects, if we made all the
assumptions based on the poorly prepared plan sets we see we would never
be low bidder.
