Ok. I talked to my boss and he said go without him, so I called Rick
and
left a message. We'll see what we can get set up for tomorrow.

I've got training all day tomorrow, but Rick O'Dell is the construction
inspector over the project. Call him at 469-576-7709 and he can meet
you out there and look at it with you.
Thanks,
Keith

I understand. I can see if my boss is available tomorrow - probably
later in the afternoon. We probably won't mark each sampling location,
but we can show you where we need to be so we can all adjust as needed.

Valerie,
We can meet any time you would like. Just understand that you are less
likely to find an undisturbed spot as each day goes by.

Keith - We're still making sure we've got everything covered for the
scope of work. I am out Wednesday - Friday of this week. Can we get
together some time next week to go over the site? I am hoping to not
be
out in the rain as it is difficult to mark locations :) Valerie

Keith - We probably can - beginning of next week maybe? I am putting
together the workplan right now, and want to have that to Mindi by the
end of the week. The workplan will include proposed locations and we
can go from there. Valerie

Valerie,
Can you meet out here on site in the next week or so and mark your
proposed locations? We can give you a better idea of timing and
conflicts if we can see on the ground what you need to do and where.
Thanks,
Keith

Mindi - Good point. We drill a small hole to about 3 feet and we do
leave a sampling probe in the ground for a week or two, depending on
different factors. We plug the hole (with a removable plug) and mark
the location with a flag, so it would be important that the area not be
disturbed. We won't be impacting too much of the construction site
though. We will stay to within 100 feet south of Bethel Road, and
mostly on the Former Coppell Auto Center property, with a little bit of
encroachment on the site to the east (to just past the grass median and
the west driveway). Is there a time period in December or January when
construction is going to slack off, or when this area of the site can
be
left alone for a week or so? We would certainly work with your
construction guys on this, as we don't want to get in their way and
hinder progress. Valerie

Valerie,
What exactly is involved in the invasive soil sampling? Do you leave
your equipment on site, or do you go out and take samples and take them
back with you? Keith Marvin just reminded me that this is an active
construction site so 1) they need to know when you will be out there so
that they aren't in your way and you aren't in theirs and 2) if you
are
leaving something in the ground, they need to know where so that they
can work around it.
I've copied Keith on this email so that he can be kept informed and
keep
his construction inspector informed at the site. Thank you for any
information you can provide.

Mindi - Don and I would like to give you an update on the Tier 2 Vapor
Encroachment Screening we are conducting at the former Coppell Auto
Center located at 461 West Bethel Road in Coppell. After review of the
provided assessment information, and conducting the Tier 2 non-invasive
screening and a risk-based evaluation of the soil and groundwater
contaminant concentrations, we have not found sufficient evidence to
suggest that contaminated groundwater or the overlying contaminated
native soil would present a vapor encroachment condition.
However, we are considering conducting limited invasive soil sampling
to
1) confirm the results of our Tier 2 screening and risk-based
evaluation, and 2) to determine the potential for vapor intrusion in
locations where utility trenches exist or are proposed as these
trenches
are potential preferential pathways for the vapor. We will prepare
an
invasive screening workplan for your review.
Please call me if you have any questions. Thanks! Valerie
