Good afternoon, Keith!
Sid indicated that I would know the availability of meeting
space on our campus, but our campus secretary has dates of evening
events at Mockingbird based on staff input. However, outside entities
actually make the facility request to the district through Merry Blevins
at mblevins@coppellisd.com <mailto:mblevins@coppellisd.com> .
The only thing I see scheduled at night during April is a PTO
Meeting for Tuesday, the 9th. The Cub Scouts usually have at least one
meeting a month in the cafeteria and there may be other groups that have
reserved spaces I am not aware of.
Thank you for meeting at Mockingbird so it will be more
convenient for our parents to attend.
Sincerely,
Pam Mitchell

Good Afternoon. Just a brief update on our Mockingbird
Reconstruction Project. The Coppell City Council approved a contract
with RKM Utilities on Tuesday evening for this project. We will be
coordinating with them over the next few weeks to establish a firm start
date for construction, and an expected schedule for the project.
We plan to host a public meeting prior to the start of
construction for all interested parties to come and see the plans, meet
the parties involved, and gain a better understanding of how they may be
impacted by the construction. We find these meeting have been more
successful when held in close proximity to the project. We would like
to host this meeting at Mockingbird Elementary one evening in mid-April.
Please let me know how best to schedule and coordinate this meeting.
Thanks.

Good Afternoon. I wanted to touch base with you again on our
Mockingbird Lane reconstruction project. We are finalizing our
construction plans, and plan to advertise the project for bid in the
next few weeks. We are still on track for beginning the project in late
April or early May, with two-way traffic being maintained until school
lets out on June 5th.
Beginning on June 6th we anticipate restricting Mockingbird
traffic to one-way northbound from Bethel School to Oriole. We are
including an incentive in the bid documents for the contractor to have
all paving and sidewalk completed, and traffic restored no later than
August 24th. Our goal is to minimize the impact to the two adjacent
schools.
I expect to have final plans in the next few weeks. Once I have
them, I’ll send them to you for review.
We look forward to working through this challenging project with
you. If you have any questions, or concerns during the course of this
project, please don’t hesitate to give Albert or I a call.
Thanks,
Keith

Thank you all for taking the time to meet with us concerning the
reconstruction of Mockingbird Lane adjacent to Mockingbird Elementary
and Middle School East. Should you have any additional questions,
please feel free to call me or send me an email.
We will visit with you some more as we finalize our design, and
give you plenty of notice prior to beginning construction. As a
reminder, our goal is to begin construction in May 2013, with lane
closures beginning after the last day of the school year.
Thanks.
