RE Mockingbird Construction (3)Thank you, Keith. The officers have told me that the additional signage seems to have made a difference. -----Original Message----- From: Keith Marvin Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 5:43 PM To: George Marshall; William Camp Cc: Alberto Samaniego Subject: Re: Mockingbird Construction Thanks for the feedback on our traffic control. We have received complaints about vehicles going the wrong way, so we are beginning to take enforcement action in the area. However, I noticed something that will be a problem when these citations are contested in court. As you approach the intersection of Oriole and Mockingbird, headed east, there is no sign that prohibits a right hand turn. Therefore, it would be wholly reasonable for a person to stop at the stop sign and then turn right, southbound, into the usual southbound lane of traffic on Mockingbird. When one of our streets is made one-way only, the court always requires adequate signage that would give any ordinary driver warning that the lane of travel is one-way only and the driver simply disregarded the signs. Would it be possible to post a “No Right Turn” sign under the stop sign at Oriole and Mockingbird? (I’ve attached a picture to show you what the intersection currently looks like.) > > Also, It would be helpful to have a “Do Not Enter” sign on the right, west, side of Mockingbird at Oriole. There is a “Road Closed” sign on the usual northbound lane and a “Wrong Way” sign near it, but people will use any excuse to ignore those signs or to think that traveling south in the usual southbound lane is still permitted. In addition, these cases require a good deal of additional signs to win in court when they go to trial, and many of they will go to trial. > > Thank you, > > Bill > <Oriole Ln.jpg>
