All of the concrete is in place for the paving
and sidewalk. Over the course of the next week the contractor will be
sealing, cleaning, striping and buttoning the street in preparation for
restoring two-way traffic. Two-way traffic will be restored no later
than Friday, August 23rd.
We anticipate work continuing during the first
week of school to restore sod and irrigation adjacent to the roadway,
however this work will be scheduled to minimize any impact to the
morning drop off and afternoon pick up at the two schools.

Subject: Mockingbird Lane Road Closure (Bethel
School to Oriole)
As most of you are aware, we have been working
on the reconstruction of Mockingbird Lane for the last month. The
contractor will be completing their utility tie-ins this week, and will
begin the removal and replacement of the existing pavement on Monday,
June 10th.
Beginning on Monday, June 10th traffic on
Mockingbird Lane will be restricted to one-way northbound from Bethel
School Road to Oriole Lane. Please observe all traffic control signage
and devices. Detour routes will be in place and signed for southbound
through traffic.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may
cause you, however this will allow us to re-open the road to two-way
traffic by the start of school on August 26th. Should you have any
questions about this work, please feel free to call the construction
inspector, Albert Samaniego at 469-576-1458, or I at the contact number
below.

Good Afternoon. I wanted to touch base with you again on our
Mockingbird Lane reconstruction project. We are finalizing our
construction plans, and plan to advertise the project for bid in the
next few weeks. We are still on track for beginning the project in late
April or early May, with two-way traffic being maintained until school
lets out on June 5th.
Beginning on June 6th we anticipate restricting Mockingbird traffic to
one-way northbound from Bethel School to Oriole. We are including an
incentive in the bid documents for the contractor to have all paving and
sidewalk completed, and traffic restored no later than August 24th. Our
goal is to minimize the impact to the two adjacent schools.
I expect to have final plans in the next few weeks. Once I have them,
I’ll send them to you for review.
We look forward to working through this challenging project with you.
