We last corresponded by email in November 2012 about the Coppell,
Mockingbird Lane Reconstruction Project. At that time I was told that
the general plan was to have all the engineering, design, utilities,
approvals, etc, all ready by the end of the school year. That would
enable the road builders to start work immediately at the start of
School Summer Break and have everything completed by school reopening at
the end of Summer.
I was also told that there would be some public meetings for the city
to announce these plans and answer any questions from the residents.
Over the last 6 months I have seen a lot of painted markers, flag
markers, and other key indicators that folks are working and planning
everything but I haven't had any updates communicated to me since the
letters from you and Keith Marvin, Coppell Project Engineer, last July
and my email to you last November (see attached).
Soooooooooooooo.......since the end of school is only about 2 months
away................ I was wondering how these plans, the schedule, and
the public meetings are coming along...........? Additionally I have
not had the reassurances I was expecting that my affected sprinkler
system, oversize mailbox, etc., would be restored appropriately. Could
you please contact me about this? Thanks.

Several weeks ago you were on site at the Mockingbird LN street
reconstruction project. I was the resident at 232 Mockingbird LN and you
were studying my brick mailbox and the short wall that I had built. As I
was in my front yard doing a little work we visited for a little while.
We discussed that I had built my short wall because of the poor
drainage of Mockingbird LN during storms. My area of Mockingbird does
NOT have a storm drain and I felt I would be unsuccessful asking the
City of Coppell to tear up the street and install a storm drain, hence I
built the wall. I agreed to send you a few pictures that I had taken in
the past showing the wall at work. Attached are a few pictures. I think
#68 is probably the best one! You will see that the basic problem is
that the alley across the street dumps so much surface water runoff that
it overwhelms the street and floods the street curb-to-curb, then when a
car drives through it washes the water over the curb, and it flows right
down my sidewalk and into my front doorway. WITHOUT MY WALL AND MAILBOX
THE WATER WOULD FLOOD MY HOME.
So when you plan the new street you need to either REBUILD MY WALL OR
BUILD A STORM DRAIN RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I hope that these
pictures will provide you what you need to understand my concerns.
These 4 movie files take up 27MB. They are in the "cloud" (actually my
Microsoft Sky Drive) so I recommend that you use a high speed (e.g.,
your office) Internet Connection to download them and NOT a cell phone
connection.
I would appreciate a response email from you that you have received
these pictures. The Mockingbird Reconstruction Project is VERY
important to me as I will be affected more than many others. Please feel
