RE Phone Call From DWU (2)Michael, how far down do you have the lake so far?
If their problem is dissolved solids, I could see how the North lake
water might be contributing and that wouldn’t be visible. But they would
have had to notice well before Friday given the timing of the pumping.
Thursday was the first runoff generating rain in quite a while. That
also may have washed a lot of quality issues into the river. Michael,
did you get a rise in the lake from it?
We’ll be glad to help however we can.
Thanks,
John

Keith,
Not sure if you are aware of this or not, but the pump has not
been pumping since Tuesday night. We are replacing it today and should
be pumping by the end of the day. When did the DWU guy call to say
there was an issue? I have been at the pump station at the river when
we are pumping and you call tell a significant difference between the
Northlake water and the Trinity water as the Lake water is much cleaner.
My guess is they experienced their water quality problems when we
stopped pumping and they were back to using the trinity river only.
I am free to meet whenever though. Just keep me posted.
Michael

I just had a phone call from DWU. They are experiencing water
quality problems at their Bachman treatment plant. He is concerned that
the issues may be linked to our discharging of water from North Lake.
He wants to set up a meeting next week in order to take some samples and
determine if the quality issues can be tied to our discharge.
He will contact me next week to set up a meeting. They may
request us to reduce our pumping rate to reduce the concentration of
Northlake water entering their intake structure.
He indicated that Park Cities is experiencing the same issues.
