North Lake Dam -- Two QuestionsKen & Keith-
We are going through the final details of the plans and specifications,
and two questions have come up:
1) As we’ve mentioned regarding the internal drainage system for
the dam, there is a manhole that will need to be extended vertically to
account for the slope flattening. The depth of the manhole will increase
from about 10 feet to about 20 feet. As such, we will need to provide
some sort of fall protection system for the ladder. We’re proposing two
options for meeting that requirement (1) a mobile tripod and cable
system for lowering a person down the manhole that can be brought to the
site (and used elsewhere, if needed) or (2) a harness bar installed down
the rungs to clip onto. Does the City of Coppell have any standards,
requirements, or preferences for this? How have you addressed this in
the past?
2) At one point, you guys had mentioned taking out the picnic
pavilion just south of the existing spillway. Is that something you’d
still like us to include on the demo sheet?
Feel free to give me a call if you’d like to discuss either of these
items further. Thanks.
