RE Issues for the conference callMade progress with your siphon idea. People are in working today. Both the City of Irving (Gary Fennell) and DCURD are verbally OK with the concept. They would like to see a written plan explaining how it would be put into place. Gary is the contact at the City. His only real concern is confirming a plan to shut it off when it’s raining. He’d like to see the size of your pipe relative to the capacity of the storm sewer. He only needs to see a written plan. 972-721-3721 I talked to Jacky Knox at DCURD. He’s ok in principle, but pointed me to Dallas Burk. Dallas would be your contact at DCURD. They oversee the canals that the storm drain will drain into before it goes into the river. Dallas said his primary concern is silt and erosion so he’d like to see the line go all the way to the drain. He’s not worried about capacity but wants to see the info on discharge rate for confirmation. He’d like to meet you out there to discuss it. 972-978-8671. I told both of them that we were likely looking at 15 to 20 cfs (10-13 MGD) and that didn’t concern either one. I’m glad to see one idea getting some traction. Dewatering thru Billingsley property a. Permits required? b. Route for drainage channel that Billingsley wants. Billingsley thinks Coppell is to provide a drawing c. Wetland issues 2. Dewater thru 42” pipe a. Can tie-in be made on Luminant property? b. 42” pipe drawings, who can locate these? c. Contact for Luminant, Kyle Ray d. What is required for TCEQ approval to excavate thru main dam? 3. Dewater thru 30” storm drain a. Who has contact with Irving to get permission? b. What is max flow through a 30” RCP? 12” siphon around 8 mgd and 18” siphon around 20 mgd c. Need to get pipe drawings from Irving. Does the 30” go directly to Grapevine creek or does it feed some of the ponds in the neighborhood? 4. Complete intake and conduit without lowering the lake a. Is this a feasible option? b. Water seepage issues during construction c. Still need to release onto Billingsley land once intake is complete 5. Any other options for removing the water?
