Dear Mr. Clancy:
In reference to the plans provided for the above-noted project by Falkofske Engineering, Inc.,
dated November 8, 1993, please note that compaction of the backfill soils to 98 % proctor is not
necessary. The hand compaction as noted on our drawings is sufficient for compaetion of the
backfill soils. Please also note that it is very important that when the final grading is completed
at the back of the wall that sheet drainage over the top of the wall is provided. Falkofske
Engineering, Inc. does not want water ponding behind the wall, and thus the slope adjacent to
the wall is very important, in that the water flows easily over the top of the wall, This work.
can be completed upon COmpletion of the homes that the retaining walls abut.
